2017 Falmouth Kitchen Tour is Full of Surprises!
Tour fabulous kitchens. Sample local goodies. Give back.
The Falmouth Kitchen Tour will feature 6 fabulous homes in Falmouth and neighboring Cumberland Foreside, showcase culinary treats from Maine businesses and give back to the community.
Highlights of this year’s tour include:
- a meticulously restored farm house
- a renowned local designer’s personal kitchen
- a newly constructed home inspired by the homeowner's grandfather’s residence in Switzerland.
Also open to the tour will be the homeowner’s art gallery in the basement. Yes, a surprising art gallery with concrete floors, museum-quality lighting and beautiful and unique art work from all over the world.
In addition to illustrating a range of architectural and design styles, colors and materials, including copper, various wood elements, quartz, glass tiles, whimsical lighting and exposed beams, each home will also feature a notable local vendor. Guests will get the chance to sample tasty treats from Coastal Maine Popcorn, Mainly Meatballs, All About the Honey and more. There will even be a caricature artist on site.
“This years tour is proving to be a show stopper. We have a wide variety of kitchen designs and layouts, interesting stories and a basement art gallery you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re an aspiring homeowner, looking to remodel, downsize or just want to enjoy a fun day out, the Falmouth Kitchen Tour will not disappoint.” - Lana Wescott, Lana Wescott Events
A portion of the Tour’s proceeds will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southern Maine. BBBS provides children facing adversity with professionally supported, enduring, one-to one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better forever. Thanks to a generous community, BBBS of Southern Maine serves 600 children per year throughout Southern Maine. “We love the exposure that the Falmouth Kitchen Tour offers. Our biggest need right now is volunteers to fill the role of Big Brother or Big Sister. We have children just waiting for their match. We hope some of the Tour guests will be inspired to join us!”
The Falmouth Kitchen Tour will take place Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.
Advance tickets are $25, available at mainekitchentours.eventbrite.com until May 1. Ticket price is $30 after May 1.
The Tour begins at Simply Home, 172 US Route One in Falmouth, where all guests will pick up their guide book and map.
The Falmouth Kitchen Tour, presented by Lana Wescott Events, is sponsored by Agren Appliance; Distinctive Tile and Design; and Indisco Kitchens and Baths.
